For groups of fewer than 15 people, there's no need to call ahead. If you are bringing a group of 15 or more, however, please call ahead of time at (608) 836-7100 so we can be properly prepared. It will help ensure that your brewery tour is as enjoyable as it should be.

We also welcome larger group tours (up to 100 people). Just give us a call and we'll be happy to make arrangements.

Here's a sneak preview of what you'll see:

Bier Stube

Copper mash tun and kettle

1. Tours start in the Bier Stube, with a brief history of Capital Brewery.

2. The copper mash tun and kettle in the Brew Haus were brought over from a German brewery.

3. Inside the mash tun, grain and water are combined to make wort, the sweet liquid that starts the brewing process. 4. The wort is transferred to the kettle, where it is boiled and hops are added. The brew is then pumped to a fermentation tank.

5. Once the brew has fermented, it needs to rest in the lagering tanks. 6. Finally, the beer is kegged, and ready for you to enjoy at home or at your favorite local retailer.
