Capital Brewery Co., Inc. recently claimed a total of nine medals - six gold medals and three silver medals - in the most recent round of the 2013 World Beer Championship, an international beer competition sponsored by the Beverage Testing Institute in Chicago, Illinois.
Capital Brewery dominated the lager tasting, a style that Capital has been brewing and winning awards for since 1986. In fact, two of the gold medal winners were among the first beers brewed by Capital, the Capital Dark and Capital Pilsner. They received scores of 92 and 91 (out of 100) respectively.
The other four gold medal winners (and their respective scores) were Autumnal Fire (95), Oktoberfest (92) and the recently introduced Pumpkinataur (93) and Appleanche (91). The three silver medal winners included Wisconsin Amber (89), Supper Club (89) and the 2013 summer seasonal Lake House Lager (89).
